Critical need for blood: Join the Aug. 22 blood drive at Kane County Government Center

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood. Whether it’s for emergency surgeries, cancer treatments, or trauma care, blood donations play a crucial role in saving lives. However, the need for blood is constant, and donations often fall short of demand. This is why community blood drives are so essential.

On Thursday, Aug. 22, the Kane County Government will host a blood drive to benefit the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kane County Government campus, 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva.

This event presents a vital opportunity for residents to contribute to their community and help ensure that hospitals have the necessary blood supply for patients in need.

The process of donating blood is simple and safe, typically taking about an hour from start to finish. Each donation can save up to three lives, making your contribution incredibly impactful.

Appointments are preferred. Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org/rapidpass for more information.
