Hooters Presents Donation to Girls in the Game as part of Chicago Wolves ‘Score for Charity’

The Chicagoland area Hooters Restaurants teamed up with the Chicago Wolves this hockey season for their “Score for Charity” program. As part of the partnership, the Chicagoland area Hooters locations selected the nonprofit Girls in the Game. Every time Wolves Dominic Franco scored a point during the season, Hooters donated toward this initiative. The donation will support year-round sports, health and leadership programs.

Representatives from the Joliet, O’Hare, Countryside and Lansing Hooters locations had the opportunity to present Girls in the Game with a donation of $1,500 on July 23. HMC Hospitality Group employees who volunteered and participated in the check presentation include Mikayla Flanagan (O’Hare), Fabiola Hernandez (Countryside), Lissette Miranda (Joliet), Alyssa Smith (Joliet), Sloan Davis (Lansing) and Latifah Gandy (Lansing). They were joined by representatives from the Chicago Wolves and Girls in the Game for the presentation.

At Girls in the Game, every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength and builds confidence through fun and active sports, health and leadership programs. Girls in the Game empowers all girls to speak up, stand out, and inspire future generations.

“HMC Hospitality Group’s donation will make an impact on the lives of over 3,000 Chicago girls this year by supporting year-round sports, health and leadership programs at Girls in the Game. As we get ready to celebrate our 30th anniversary year, we are thrilled to begin this partnership with HMC and look forward to engaging with their employees in the coming year,” said Girls in the Game Executive Director Meghan Morgan. “My visit with Girls in the Game definitely made a positive impact in my life. It’s important for not only every girl, but especially younger girls, to find their voice, build confidence in themselves, and learn how to support one another. Girls in the Game do an amazing job at this. As a Hooters Girl, it inspires me to continue setting a good example for younger girls who may look up to me. I’m grateful to work for a company that allows me to volunteer and put in the time to continue making a difference in the community,” said Mikayla Flanagan who works at the O’Hare Hooters location.

“We are thankful for the opportunity to sponsor the Chicago Wolves Score for Charity Initiative. We believe and align with Girls in the Game’s mission to empower women,” said HMC Hospitality Group Chief Marketing Officer Denise Williams.
