Ribbon-cutting at Barrington Boat Company's new showroom
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce proudly welcomed the community to celebrate the grand opening of Barrington Boat Company's new showroom in Port Barrington. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held on Thursday, July 11, marked an exciting development for local boating enthusiasts.
Barrington Boat Company has created a unique destination for all things boating. The new showroom offers a comprehensive full-service boating and marina experience designed to make the boating lifestyle accessible, easy and enjoyable. Owners Dillon and Michelle Streit have created a space where the boating journey begins with the purchase of a boat and continues seamlessly throughout its ownership.
“At Barrington Boat Company, we are dedicated to providing a seamless and stress-free boating experience,” said Dillon Streit. “Our new showroom is designed to be a unique destination for boat lovers, offering everything from sales to maintenance under one roof.”
In addition to the new showroom, Dillon and Michelle Streit also own Barrington Boat Club, a full-service boat club where members can enjoy the boating lifestyle without the hassles of ownership. The club owns the boats and handles every aspect of maintenance and service, allowing members to simply enjoy their time on the water.
The Streit family has a long-standing history in the automotive and marine industries. Dillon’s grandfather, Paul E. Streit, opened an automotive shop in 1964, marking the start of a multigenerational family business. The shop moved to Cary in 1974, and alongside his son, Daniel Streit, they transitioned from cars to boats in the mid-80s. Dillon then took over the business in 2006, expanding operations to include locations in Fox River Grove, Barrington and McHenry.
