Ask voters about zoo parking
I read that the Wheaton City Council decided that they can do what they want pertaining to the Cosley Zoo parking lot. It was never on a ballot as a referendum, so the people could choose what they want, the proper way. Just a slight reminder, the money that would be used is the people’s not the politicians’.
The people that live by this parking lot do not want it. The safety of the individuals that would be crossing Gary Ave would be in jeopardy and it would be used maybe three or four months out of the year. What amazes me is according to the newspapers is that this parking lot in 2015 would cost $49 million; that was almost 10 years ago. I have a feeling it’s more now. So, before you council people start spending the people’s tax dollars, maybe you should ask.
