Villa Park Brewery hosts inaugural summer market with over 30 local artists
On Saturday, Aug. 10, More Brewing in Villa Park invites beer and craft lovers to its inaugural Summer Send Off Market. The outdoor handmade market will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at the brewery, 126 S. Villa Ave. It is free to attend for all ages.
Curated by the Streetz Artz Alliance, the market features over 30 artists showcasing a diverse range of high-quality, handmade items. The event will be held both indoors and outdoors, with an outside beer station offering can pours of More Brewing’s flagship beers.
Artists will be set up under tents in the parking lot between More Brewing and the old Pioneer Garden store, extending into the parking area behind the brewery.
“It’s exciting to work with More Brewing again and bring over thirty unique artists to the area,” said John Streetz, curator for the Streetz Artz Alliance. “I’m really proud of the variety of artists and quality of items patrons will see at this event.”
The market will feature a mix of handmade items, one-of-a-kind gifts, and Halloween-themed products. Additionally, Ten Cups Tarot will offer single or couple tarot readings, while 4everlinked Permanent Jewelry will provide custom-fit bracelets, necklaces, and anklets. Food options include infused ice cream, pickles, roasted coffee beans, giant cookies, and seasoned nuts from vendors such as Be Delicious Sweets, FeFe’s Pickles and Peppers, Manbot Coffee Roasters, Masterclass Savory Sweet Foods, and Wanna Pickle Gourmet Foods.
Attendees of the More Summer Send Off Market will find a diverse selection of apparel and accessories, including boot wings, tiny hats, patches, graphic tees, hair clips, jewelry, jackets, hip bags, purses, headbands, and more.
Ghost Owl Studio will showcase their highly comfortable T-shirts featuring unique artwork, while Project Good Apparel will offer sustainably produced button-up shirts.
“We are thrilled to share our #DoGood mission and sustainable apparel with our hometown at the More Summer Send Off Market. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with our neighbors and highlight the positive impact that conscious fashion can have on the world,” says Matt Brosseau, founder of Project Good Apparel.
Pet lovers will be delighted with a range of pet-themed items and treats available at the market. From all-natural dog food and cat treats to pet blankets, cat toys, and pet-safe household products, there will be something for every furry friend. Look for offerings from Bosco’s All Natural and Cats, Crafts & Cooking, who will be eager to meet pet owners.
The Streetz Artz Alliance is a collective of over 350 Chicago area artists dedicated to promoting small businesses and breweries throughout the suburbs. Some notable brewery partners include Noon Whistle Brewing, Church Street Brewing, Brother Chimp Brewing, Blue Island Beer Company, Hailstorm Brewing, Soundgrowler Brewing, and Phase Three Brewing.
Paula Krizek, owner of Self Made Body and Soul, shares her enthusiasm: “As a Villa Park resident, I’m thrilled to be part of More’s first Makers Market. I can’t wait to bring some rubber duck adoptions to my hometown!”
Many artists will be open to custom and commissioned pieces. Scary Terri’s Crafts welcomes new ideas for patches, Belonio Doodles and Libby McArthur Art enjoy custom commissions, and Custom Leather Art by Decker can paint almost anything on leather items. “We’re excited to bring your ideas to life,” said Chris Kogut of Crafted Laserworks.
