Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ celebrates ‘Sweet & Saucy 16th Anniversary’
Mark your calendars for a sizzling, end-of-summer celebration as the Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ returns for its 16th year on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 2 to 10 p.m. at the Duane Street public parking lot in downtown Glen Ellyn.
This beloved community event, benefiting Bridge Communities, is a day filled with mouthwatering barbecue, live music, and family-friendly fun.
With the theme “Sweet & Saucy 16,” this year’s BBQ extravaganza will feature:
• An amateur BBQ competition showcasing local grill masters
• A lineup of talented musicians and live acts, including Panic at the Costco, Markus Alan Project, EP8, and Amy Kelly — The Beaver Moon Band
• A variety of food and drink vendors offering delicious barbecue and refreshments
• The Piglet Playland with entertainment from Mary Macaroni, providing plenty of fun for the kiddos
“BBQ, bands, and beer, what’s not to like?” said Glen Ellyn Backyard BBQ co-chair Rani McKee. “We have something for everyone: awesome BBQ, great bands, super fun kids play area, beer and the largest amateur BBQ contest in the state of Illinois.”
This event raises thousands of dollars in support of the families facing homelessness served by Bridge Communities, so attendees can have a blast while supporting their neighbors in need.
