Glenbard East comeback catches West Aurora
Glenbard East overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to beat West Aurora 44-43 in an Upstate Eight Conference Valley Division contest in Lombard.
Trailing 27-17, Glenbard East (7-2, 2-0) flipped the script. The Rams held West Aurora to 16 second-half points and scored 27 including 15 in the fourth quarter.
Terrence Lakes scored 14 points and Mike Finley scored 13 for the Rams. West Aurora (2-5, 1-1) was led by DaQuan Cross with 9 points.
Reed-Custer 104, Lisle 85:
Lisle coach Mark LaScala had thought Lisle would need to score 90 points to hassle Interstate Eight-leading Reed-Custer. Even that was conservative.
Twelve 3-point baskets helped Reed-Custer improve to 8-1, 4-0. The visitors scored 32 points in the second quarter, 57 in the first half. Lisle (5-4, 2-1) countered with 52 points spanning the second and third quarters. The Lions were led by Adalberto Gutierrez and Ryan Gillen with 21 points apiece, and 20 from Mark McGrath.
