Medical examiner confirms accidental drowning in death of Zion 4-year-old
A Cook County medical examiner on Saturday determined accidental drowning caused the death of a four-year-old Zion boy earlier this month.
Carter E. Patterson was pulled from pool of the Renaissance Hotel in Glenview on the evening of April 5, according to an ABC 7 report. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he died April 9, according to the Cook County medical examiner.
According to ABC 7, witnesses reported seeing the boy at the deep end of the pool. One witness reported performing CPR on the boy before authorities arrived, according to ABC 7.
