St. Charles Chamber extends deadline for cover design contest

The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce extended the deadline for the contest to select front cover design for the 2019-20 Community Guide & Membership Directory.

All submissions must meet the contest design criteria and be delivered to the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, 216 Riverside, St. Charles, IL 60174, no later than noon Monday, Sept. 9.

The artist must reside locally, ideally within the chamber's primary service area, which includes: City of St. Charles, St. Charles Township, Village of Campton Hills and Wasco.

The submission should be representative the greater St. Charles community.

It is open to any style/medium, as long as it can be properly photographed. The design must fit within and/or cropped to fit within cover template (refer to template). The trim size for the cover will be 8.5 by 10.75 inches; the bleed size would need to be 8.75 by 11 inches.

In addition to the original work, submit a at least one photo of your submission, minimum 300 dpi.

Along with your art submission, include a summary document which includes name, address, contact information, website (if applicable), overview of the inspiration for your submission and how it is representative of the greater St. Charles community; and other commentary.

In early September, images of the submissions will be on display at the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce for the members and community to place a vote on their selection, which will close at midnight, Sept. 16. (Note: Online voting may also be available, but not determined at this time)

The top three finalists will be announced the week of Sept. 16.

The winner will be selected and affirmed by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce and announced no later than Sept. 28.

The selected winner will have their submission photographed and included on the from cover of the 2019-20 Community Guide & Membership Directory, published by the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Shaw Media, to be published in November 2018.

The selected winner will receive 1-year free business membership in the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce ($325 value) and a $100 St. Charles Chamber gift certificate, which is accepted by over 100 local businesses.

The two runners-up will each receive a $50 St. Charles Chamber gift certificate.
