Residents turn out to watch Streamwood Summer Celebration parade

Hundreds of people lined Streamwood Boulevard Saturday as the Summer Celebration parade marched west to Hoosier Grove Park, the final destination.

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the three-day festival in Streamwood that includes food, drinks, music, games, and carnival rides. It began Friday.

Summer Celebration is a partnership between the village, the Streamwood Park District, and the Poplar Creek Library.

The festival continues Sunday, starting at noon at Hoosier Grove Park, 700 Irving Park Road.
