Tee up for Sept. 5 D214 Education Foundation benefit
Outdoor golf benefit events are fun but also subject to the whim of whatever form of weather happens to descend on the course that day. Storms? Extreme heat? Historically early snowfall? Who wants any of that? No one.
Which is why the District 214 Education Foundation offers a weatherproof, family-friendly golf outing and a great way to benefit District 214 students: Mark the calendar for Sept. 5 and register for “Tee Up for 214,” to be held at Topgolf in Schaumburg. It is an evening of great fun for a great cause.
“Tee Up for 214” features a lively mix of golf, hearty appetizers, cash bar, fun contests, music and a robust raffle. The event — to be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. — is a family-friendly event; all ages are welcome. Early registration is encouraged, as tickets will not be available at the door, and the ticket deadline is Aug. 23.
The Education Foundation website — www.214foundation.org — offers additional details and ways to sign up for anyone who wants to play, serve as an event sponsor or offer in-kind contributions for the raffle.
Support for this event — as a player, spectator, sponsor or donor — boosts the foundation in fulfilling its vital mission: To support students and their families through school and throughout life by strengthening their education, fostering their well-being and expanding their opportunities.
Anyone who attends “Tee Up for 214” or makes a separate gift to the foundation is making a vital investment in our community, helping the foundation to drive change, promote equity and open doors for District 214’s amazing students.
District 214, the state’s second-largest high school district, has long been a leader in innovation and learning opportunities that prepare students for life success. The district’s six comprehensive schools and its Specialized Schools meet the needs of students across eight Northwest suburban municipalities.
The Education Foundation complements and extends the work, bringing first-generation students and their parents to college campuses, funding tens of thousands of dollars in early college credit through the support of Advanced Placement tests for students who cannot afford the fee; bolstering the business dreams of standout entrepreneurial students and awarding thousands of dollars in scholarships.
