How to apply for Palatine Citizen Police Academy

The Palatine Police Department is accepting applications for the Fall 2024 Citizen Police Academy.

This 10-week course will run every Tuesday 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. between Sept. 10 and Nov. 26. It will provide participants an opportunity to gain insight into the world of law enforcement as well as foster positive relationships with the officers who serve in their community.

Topics covered include: use of force/Taser/body-worn camera; shoot/don't shoot scenarios; crime prevention; vehicle stops; neighborhood-based policing; SWAT operations and major crime investigations; and more. There also will be ride-along opportunities.

Applicants must be at least 25 years of age and live in Palatine. Application can be found online at https://tinyurl.com/5z3hve8f.
