Party on the Green with music, games and movie Aug. 17 in Northbrook
Summer is in full swing, and there is no better way to enjoy it than by attending Party on the Green, a free, all-ages outdoor event presented by the Northbrook Park District.
The annual family event starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Village Green Park, 1810 Walters Ave., in downtown Northbrook. People will be able to enjoy live music, fun games, delicious food and beverages and a showing of an animated movie at dusk.
There will also be games and giveaways for people of all ages. The Landmark Inn Bar & Grille, a Northbrook favorite, will offer hamburgers and hot dogs, plus a variety of beers, hard seltzers, soda and water, all for purchase.
“This is such a fun, free community event for all ages, with entertainment that will please everyone,” Northbrook Park District Recreation Manager Nancy Eschker said. “Whether you just come for the music or stay until the movie at dusk, you are certain to have a good time.”
Two bands will perform on stage: The Wayouts, whose repertoire consists of groovy 60s garage rock hits, and Maggie Speaks, whose lineup features high-energy covers, from old-school classics to modern pop hits.
The evening will conclude with a showing at the park of the movie “Trolls Band Together,” a 2023 animated jukebox musical comedy produced by DreamWorks Animation.
Schedule of events on Aug. 17:
4 p.m. to dusk: Games, inflatables, crafts and giveaways; food and beverages for purchase
4:15 p.m. The Wayouts
