Northbrook Park District partners with local restaurant

Expanding its long-standing relationship with a valuable member of the local business community, the Northbrook Park District has partnered with The Landmark Inn Bar & Grille to provide food and beverages for outdoor events this summer.

The restaurant, a favorite for Northbrook residents and beyond, has been on-site with booth at park district events, and will do so again at the park district’s upcoming Party on the Green on Aug. 17, at Village Green Park; Northbrook Brewfest, held in conjunction with the village of Northbrook on Sept. 7, also at Village Green Park.

The Landmark Inn, housed in Northbrook’s oldest commercial structure built in 1885 at 1352 Shermer Road, is co-owned and operated by siblings Helene Kapetaneas and Constantine Kyriazopoulos.

“The Northbrook Park District is thrilled that Landmark Inn is providing delicious food and beverages at our summer events,” said Northbrook Park District Director of Recreation Eileen Loftus. “Helene and Constantine have been exceptional partners to the Northbrook Park District, consistently sharing their love for the community at our special events. Their commitment to Northbrook makes each event more memorable and enjoyable for all.”

The Landmark Inn is equally excited about the partnership, Kapetaneas said.

“We love working with the park district and we love all the different types of events they have.”

The restaurant provides customized food based on the nature of the event, she said.

For example, the menu at Party on the Green will include hamburgers and hot dogs, plus a variety of beers, hard seltzers, soda and water, all for purchase. During Northbrook Brewfest, the restaurant will offers beer brats, and pretzels and cheese.

“We love that the park district has events for different age groups. Cup-in-Hand is where the adults get to have fun like when we were kids. Grapes on the Green had an older crowd. Party on the Green is for the whole family and Brewfest is more for adults,” Kapetaneas said. “We like working the events because we see some of our regular customers in a different setting, and we also get to chat up some new people in the process.”
