Northern Illinois Food Bank Receives $70,000 donation from Meijer to help fight hunger in North Chicago

Northern Illinois Food Bank has announced that it received a $70,000 donation from Meijer. The donation is a part of Meijer’s $2 million donation to 30 key food bank partners to help battle hunger in its local communities. The awarded funds will be used to support the Food Bank’s general operating costs and work in the fight against hunger.

Meijer retailer serves customers at more than 500 supercenters, grocery stores, neighborhood markets and express locations throughout the Midwest. The retailer donates at least 6 percent of its profit annually to strengthen its communities. These focused donations will create a larger impact helping the food banks to better meet the needs of those they serve in communities across the Midwest.
