North Cook Educators Achieve National Board Teacher Certification
The North Cook Intermediate Service Center (ISC) / Regional Office of Education 5, located in Des Plaines, is pleased to announce that 31 educators from across its school districts achieved or renewed their National Board Teacher Certification.
This is an extraordinary undertaking while serving in a role as educator, and their dedication is commendable. They are part of an esteemed three percent of teachers nationwide who hold this honor.
According to the National Board Certification website, "every student deserves to be taught by an accomplished teacher. National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It's the highest certification a teacher may obtain in addition to being the most respected one."
To support candidates, North Cook ISC facilitated National Board Teacher cohort meetings through a partnership with the National Board Resource Center (NBRC) at Illinois State University to help the educators navigate the process through their certification journey over a two-year period. Coaches guided candidates through each of the four required components to achieve National Board Certification.
The Regional Office of Education is proud that these individuals serve students in the North Cook region of Illinois and appreciate their leadership, commitment, and perseverance.
