Shenanigans on the Green returns to Hoffman Estates Aug. 10

The Northwest Celtic Fest: Shenanigans on the Green returns to Hoffman Estates’ Virginia Mary Hayter Village Green from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

The fun cultural event includes with free parking, entry and kids’ activities.

Activities include a Celtic Marketplace, whiskey tasting, birds of prey demonstration, live sword play demonstrations from the Chicago Sword Play Guild, a mini horse meet and greet from Soul Harbor, opportunities to meet with clans and learn about your Celtic ancestry, dancing and live music.

Authentic Celtic fare and a variety of beer and other beverages will be available for purchase.

New this year, the Chicago Area Corgi Owners Group is hosting Corgi races from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Celtic Fest Commission is collecting nonperishable food items and winter clothing item donations at the event.

The Village Green is at 5510 Prairie Stone Parkway, adjacent to the Now Arena. Parking is available in the Tate & Lyle parking lot at 5450 Prairie Stone Parkway.
