New digital photography certificate available at College of DuPage

College of DuPage is launching new fully stackable Digital Photography Certificate in response to a growing demand for digital photographic content.

Starting this fall, students will be able to complete the certificate either remotely or in-person, and in a shorter period than other certificates in the program.

Courses for the Digital Photography Certificate will develop students’ use of a DSLR camera, analyze the history and social impact of photography, identifying ethical considerations when working with AI technologies, etc., giving them a set of skills that will prepare them to step into the world of modern content creation as they complete their degree in Photography Technology.

“I’m excited about having a certificate that students can take anywhere,” said Katherine Sifers, photography program chair. “It’s been exciting to build something that can be taken either in-person or remotely.”

The Photography program at College of DuPage prepares students to work in an industry that is rapidly changing. Students learn basic skills and workflow as well as advanced digital imaging, printing and business practices and portfolio preparation.

Photography faculty are real-world professionals who share their knowledge and perspectives with students.
