Bilingual music program at West Chicago library
Catalina Maria Johnson, a bilingual, Chicago-based music journalist, will present a program, “Latinos in Illinois and the USA: Music as a Cultural History,” on Aug. 15 at the West Chicago Public Library.
Johnson hosts and produces a radio show, “Beat Latino,” which airs in Chicago on Chicago Public Media’s Vocalo station. A contributor to National Public Radio, Johnson explores the diversity of the global music scene.
The bilingual program for teens and adults will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, in the meeting room at the West Chicago Library, 118 W. Washington St. Registration information is available by visiting wcpld.librarycalendar.com.
