Ex-employee questioned

Elgin police moved in with guns drawn Saturday afternoon and took Elgin resident Martin E. Blake into custody for questioning about the shooting of seven employees of the Brown's Chicken & Pasta restaurant in Palatine.
Neighbors Mark and Janete Gomoll began snapping photos after they saw Blake come out of his garage and lift the hood of his car, parked in the driveway. Police, parked nearby in unmarked cars, jumped out, trained their guns on Blake, and screamed for him to freeze, Gomoll said.
Blake, a former Brown's employee, surrendered without resisting, neighbors said.
